Next Generation Photodynamic Therapy (NGPDT) is destined to be the first choice of cancer therapy for the 21st century, irrespective of whether it involves first stage, fourth stage or recurring cancer. Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is an FDA and EMEA approved form of therapy for cancer, ophthalmologic, dermatologic and infectious diseases and is also effective for cardiovascular and diagnostic applications. Despite impressive and positive results from research carried out by internationally renowned universities over the past 15 to 20 years, certain drawbacks and limitations were the main reason why earlier generations of PDT were not a popular choice for cancer therapy. Now, after years of research and breakthroughs in the main technical difficulties, NGPDT has transformed into a non-invasive whole body cancer treatment that kills only tumour and metastatic cancer cells, leaving the healthy and normal cells unharmed. NGPDT also keeps the body’s organs intact and does not damage, but in fact boosts, the immune system. These are the main reasons why NGPDT can be used repeatedly without harming the body and has shown impressive results with any type of cancer.
